Teen Life (high school)

As a teen I think that a lot of people try and get through it. Even though you always hear from adults that the best years of their lives were in high school its hrd to believe that. The drama, pressure for good grades, friends, teachers and social lives are so "important". I cant understand ow it was the best years of your life. I think the only reason adults say that is because they didn't have to worry about taxes, a job and takin care of children. Even though I have one year left of school, life seems to just get more complicated. Sure you get more responsibility but with that also comes many hard aches and pressure. The drama gets more complicated. Before in elementary shool you would get in trouble for calling a kid a name now in high school the emotions of everyone gets so much more emotional because the meaings of words hurts more with every blow. I have been fortunite enough that I can com home and express my feelings to my parents and they know exactly the right thing to do. I can tell them anything and if something is wrong or I did something wrong then I know that I can get help from them without humiliation. So I think that a lot of the drama that comes out at school starts at the home. Don't know why I wrote about this but I thought that maybe someone would need to understand what it is like living a teens life.

There's lots of great things about being a teen. But you are right, there's lots of hard things too. Just remember that in a short time, all the things that are SO important now, will fade to the back. Including the hurt. Every season of life has roses and thorns. You are doing well to smell the roses and to tolerate the thorns in your life now Jenn. Love Mom.

Jenn,
it's a new take on "heartaches" to see it spelled "hard aches". I love it. It's so THERE!! Indeed, your a.c. aches too, and I think that when we are so very aware of our own hard ache, we feel certain that it is the biggest ache around. But, no, there's more...

Loving you!! Thanks for your perspective. I think its wonderful that you THINK things through. It's so like mfwb and you are fortunate to have each other....xoxox a.c.
